Hello,
Today was our last day and our longest by the time we had got to the Marriott. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side but I think we were lucky to only have it for one day and not all week. It was lovely and flat and we were ticking off the miles. It started to get really tough as it was windy, cold and wet but we kept on thinking about the money that we were raising. We didn't have lunch instead we had a flap jack and chocolate bar (very healthy!) but we like to like to think we burnt all the calories off. Mum had another 2 falls (picture to follow) but she is fine now... no concussion this time! We then finished the bike ride and dipped our bikes into the sea again so we had done coast to coast as well!
Thank you for all your lovely comments, jokes, continuous support and a massive thank you for the money you have donated for the Downs syndrome association. We have raised a fantastic £500 as mum and dad have made it up to this amount.
Neve, Euan, Brendan and Liz :-)
We thank you for keeping us entertained this week because we have had a week of really dreadful weather and you gave us something to look forward to every day. We also enjoyed the comments and jokes from all family and friends, how fortunate we are to have been able to join in this adventure. Have a lovely time at the Marriott, hope to see you all soon. Your very proud Grandma & Grandpa, mom &dad, Vilma & Mike. xxxx Hope you are ok Liz xx
ReplyDeleteI just had to finish up with a late one before going to bed! Congrats again on a tremendous effort especially today with the bad weather and Mummy Walsh's accidents - hope she is now patched up and ready for the journey home. When you sign off from your daily blogs at the end of a trip I feel I have come to the end of a really good book, but I know that it won't be long before a new one begins - goodness knows what you Walshes will be next! Thanks for all the blogs - night, night and lots of love from N & G xx
